workday wednesdays: tails of love animal rescue

happy wednesday!  i’ve been busy taking care of the new peanut and printing that i am backed up with my blogging.  time to catch up.

i’m fond of animals, but not all fuzzy creatures.  we have a few open lots near our home and during this past winter season, a furry animal found refuge in our warm garage… a field mouse!!!  pregnant with my big belly, i was not about to print in my little garage shop with an unwanted visitor,  but i had some projects that could not wait until the little critter was caught!

enter my husband, my “unofficial assistant”.  i set up the press and with my supervision, my husband helped me print and complete a project for Tails of Love Animal Rescue, a new york based non-profit organization.  zarina from Tails of Love contacted me to create note cards and thank you cards with their organization’s logo.  here’s what they are all about about {visit their facebook page to learn more and become a fan}:

We are a 501(c)3 animal rescue. We save lives. We are committed to creating a compassionate community where there are no more stray, abandoned, or neglected animals and where destroying animals is no longer used as a means of population control. No matter if the animals are unwanted, abused, neglected, or ill we are dedicated to ensuring their life forward is an amazing one. We rescue from high kill, overcrowded shelters. We vet, transport and foster pets until the perfect match is made between you and one of our adoptable pets !

a big thanks to zarina and Tails of Love Animal Rescue for letting me work with your great organization!

{and a big thank you to my husband for helping me out… he enjoyed printing and working with the heavy machinery!}

long live snail mail!

with technology rampant… twitter, facebook, email, text, etc… it’s nice to know that some people still write– snail mail is alive and well!  with the holidays just around the corner, i’ve been at the press daily churning out the numerous personalized stationery orders that keep coming in.  it’s nice knowing that a product that i hand cut, hand fed on a vintage press, packaged on my kitchen table, and mailed to the buyer will either use it themselves or give the personalized stationery to a friend, colleague, family member, teacher of their child, boss, etc as a christmas present, engagement gift, birthday gift, graduation gift, etc.  then one day, that person will hand write a sentiment in their own penmanship and either hand it to someone else personally or put a stamp on it and send it to yet another person. so cool!

feature fridays: Kate P Photography

a few weeks ago i had an etsy order for personalized notecards.  shortly after, i received an email from the buyer, kate passaro… she said she was excited to receive her order and that she was a photographer and wanted to know if i wanted photos of my product.  i of course happily agreed.  just last night i received an email from kate with the photos she had taken and oh my!  i have a humble little camera and i think i have a pretty good eye so i’ve always thought my blog pictures and etsy product photos have been pretty decent… but when i saw kate’s photos.. i was blown away!  kate transformed the notecards into glamour and sophistication!  visit her site today by clicking ‘here’.  thank you kate!!  go visit the etsy shop if you want your own personalized notecards!

workday wednesdays: pink and brown

{side note: i know, today is actually thursday, but in the spirit of trying to consistently blog, i meant to post this yesterday}

is pink and brown yesterday’s orange and purple? that’s ok, because that’s one of my close friend’s favorite color combo… she was sporting pink well before it became trendy and for her upcoming wedding, underneath her couture dress will be hot pink pumps!

here are personalized note cards for said friend and her fiance. i love the use of ampersands… don’t you want to have a “+1″ in your life just so you can have lovely note cards with an ampersand between your names?
