a few weeks ago, i packed the kids and the husband in the vehicle {yet again} and headed down south to atlanta, illinois where i met a very kind mr. larry brandt. this is his personal print shop filled with plenty of goodies.
if you haven’t figured it out yet, i have a serious weakness when it comes to letterpress paraphernalia. you guessed it, i bought mr. brandt’s letterpress shop. i know, i am have gone off the deep end! before you pass judgement though, let’s take a closer look at the newly acquired goods…
a potter proof press…
a new style chandler and price…
a guillotine paper cutter…
and type cabinets filled with type…
along with a slew of other goods like leads, slugs, tympan paper, rollers, a furniture rack, a custom made chase for the potter and the list goes on. see, how could i resist?
“how did you move all of that heavy machinery?” you ask…
i made a second trip to good old atlanta and with me brought some muscles… the hubby, the brother, and the brother-in-law.
after a few hours of huffing and puffing, they got the trailer loaded and the goods securely tied down.
we drove home tired {well not me, the men mostly}, but the battle was only half over.
“where did you put all of that stuff?” you ask…
to be continued…
